At the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering (CAE), our research is driven by a commitment to address the confronting challenges of our era. Our research areas span from fundamental scientific study to applied, real-world solutions. Across disciplines such as structural engineering, dynamic structure and geotechnics, building science, and construction design, we address key challenges in the built environment – from sustainable materials, climate-adaptive construction, and regenerative building to digitalization and resilient infrastructure – through close collaboration with other national and international research institutes, industry, and society. We are committed to bridging engineering with architecture and social science, ensuring that our research not only advances technical solutions but also fosters holistic, life-enhancing spaces for the future.
