At the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering we conduct basic research and application-oriented research of the highest national and international levels. We strive to contribute to the sustainable development of all aspects of the construction process, from the design phase, the materials used and the construction itself, to energy, the environment and climate, and to the importance of the lives lived in the built environment.
Our ambition is for the knowledge we create through research and development in interdisciplinary collaboration with knowledge centres, companies, industry and authorities to contribute to tackling major global challenges such as climate change, green transition, digitalisation and health.
