Construction management

The Construction Management Research Group focuses on optimizing construction processes by viewing projects as complex socio-technical production systems. Research aims to improve productivity, cost efficiency, lead time, quality, safety, and sustainability across the construction lifecycle. Key research areas include construction labour productivity, Lean Construction, and the application of Construction 4.0 technologies such as BIM, Digital Twins, IoT, AI, and data analytics to support data-driven planning and control. The group also investigates energy consumption, embedded energy, and CO₂ emissions on construction sites, contributing to the green transition through close collaboration with industry and international partners, with active involvement of MSc and PhD students.
