About the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering

Aarhus University's Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering is an international research and education environment with a strong focus on the green transition and digitalisation of the construction sector. Through our interdisciplinary collaboration with business and industry, we develop and realise new knowledge and new technical solutions for the sector that will benefit society and sustainable development efforts.

We develop technology and knowledge at the intersection of classical science and engineering. Our research, education and development activities focus on sustainable design, building construction, recycling, material design, energy, regenerative construction and health for the entire construction lifecycle.

At the department we educate both BEng, BSc and MSc graduates in engineering.

Explore our impact:

At the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering (CAE), we focus on sustainable design, construction, operation and maintenance of the built environment. We work for a green transition of the construction industry, and we are aiming to play a crucial role. We want to generate the knowledge necessary and set the right course to reduce carbon emissions. We also want to create new forms of collaboration to inspire the various players in the industry to a radically different, responsible and visionary course.
