In this research area we develop and validate evidence-based models for human perception of the build environment. For this we consider multiple aspects of human comfort, health and productivity as well as the emotional and behavioral impact that the build environment has to human. In the research we collect several types of data through measurements, surveys, interviews, observations, clinical tests, simulations etc. We combine both on-site field study from the real world and more controlled experiments in virtual reality (VR) or a climate chamber. The scope is ultimately to increase human well-being in the build environment by application of evidence-based models as decision-support in the building design stage.
