The Structural Engineering section delivers education at the B.Eng. (Diploma), B.Sc., and M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs offered by the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering. The courses span structural design, structural integrity, computational modelling, experimental testing, risk and reliability analysis covering both theoretical and practical aspects. We train our students to critically appraise the results of high-fidelity computational models by means of simplified calculations as well as low-fidelity numerical and analytical models.
Our students are trained to work both in team and individually and to leverage the most advanced tools for computational modelling (both simulation models and building information models), experimental testing (material and structural levels) and data analysis (machine learning). Our teachers, supported by the Centre of Educational Development of Aarhus University, strives to bring to the classroom the most advanced tools to deal with learning and knowledge such as generative AI.
