He is currently Associate Editor for the journal Tunnelling and Underground Space Technology. He represents the Danish Geotechnical Society as a nominated member of ISSMGE Technical Committees TC204 (Underground Construction) and TC308 (Energy Geotechnics).

Research

  • Data-driven monitoring and analytics for geotechnical infrastructure
  • Deep foundations subjected to complex external loads in offshore applications
  • The response of buildings, existing tunnels, pile foundations to excavations and subsidence
  • Underground structures for energy storage

Info of collaboration pathways. Prospective candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Franza to explore opportunities to join his research group through competitive scholarships and fellowships (including Marie Curie Fellowships, DFF International Postdoctoral Grants, Villum International Postdoc Grants, and AIAS Fellowships), or for visiting PhD and postdoctoral positions.
